An indispensable element on Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is the SLS Safety Laser Scanner, which protects against collisions with materials or people, and can also guide navigation in SLAM mode. SLAM means simultaneous localization and mapping and allows robots and other autonomous vehicles to build a map and localize themselves on that map at the same time. SLS safety laser scanners used in master and slave mode can be mounted with up to 4 units on all sides of the AGV to monitor the entire surrounding area, or just only 2 units on opposite corners thanks to the larger 275° scanning angle.
